The Thrill of Victory

kissing

After the blowouts of the last three weeks, that felt good.

Our poor special teams play and costly interceptions made that much closer than it should have been, but now’s not the time to nitpick. Now’s the time to toast Bobby’s first SEC victory.

Arkansas is now 3-0 when I’ve missed the second half. Guess I was the jinx all along, guys. Sorry.

Take ‘em any way we can get ‘em.

Michael Smith = Bad Ass.

Arkansas wins, therapy averted (for now). For a matchup that was described as a “very-stoppable offense vs. a very-movable defense”, I’m definitely glad we won-out on that little side-show. We tried to shoot ourselves in the foot again, with costly fumbles and interceptions, but I was happy to see the defense hold (or Auburn’s offense falter, I’m not sure which) when we needed it. But, I can honestly say, seeing that we got an interception with 45 seconds remaining was the happiest moment of the whole season for me. I hope this doesn’t turn out to be a tease, but it looks like the team is adjusting to the new system. I’m not saying we win out, I’m not saying we make a bowl game, but I do think certain future games just became more winnable. Go Hogs!

Oh wow, I’m still coming down from that adrenaline high. Not only did our defense look good, but we made one of the best defenses in the nation look like a very average defense. Michael Smith is amazing, the OLine actually protected Dick, and DICK oh my god he was actually good against a good defense.

There were quite a few problems that really made the game a lot closer than what it should have been, but we dominated both sides of the ball.

Perfect picture for this thread! As I sat on my back patio, and the game ended with a “W”!! and I didn’t have a heart attack in the process—I felt just like that!
GO HOGS!!

And, I’m with Drew–the least of the minor bowls would be FUN!

Great win for these kids. They stepped up and made the big plays when they needed them. They get just a little bit better every game. @ Kentucky is next, so i’m crossing my fingures we don’t have a let-down. We’ll definately have to come back down to earth by Monday. GO HOGS GO!!!!!

I have never been so happy to be wrong. I thought we couldn’t stop a power running game. Either our D is coming around, or Auburn is simply awful, because that was a Hog domination.

You have to feel good for the kids. It’s been a tough three weeks. I agree with Drew, a lot of games just got more winnable. Maybe Alabama, Texas and Florida really were that good.

The dipsy do, end around pass from Adams to Dick showed more imagination than I have seen in a decade.

On a side note… I can’t wait to see how you rearrange the power poll now that Miss State beat Vandy, Florida beat LSU, and of course the most important story of the day, Arkansas beat Auburn. My vote for “worst of the best cup” Tennessee…

I guess I’m the fuddy-duddiest commenter so far, but I particularly do NOT find this to be the most appropriate picture for this post. No, winning a damned football game is not the equivalent of the end of World War II.

I was there, and it was incredible. What impressed me even more than the reverse-then-pass to Dick was the intentional safety to allow us to punt it deep at the end of the game. Gutsy, but brilliant. Well done, Coach.

Michael, what the hell?

No one said this was an equivalent to the end of WWII….!?!

What the hell are you thinking buddy? Sounds to me like you need to reevaluate the significance of a picture. Or at bare minimum, take everything with a grain of salt.
