I have no strong feelings for Arkansas State, although I did see a kick-ass Billy Joel concert there in the early '70s, but when the U of A program was in its nadir in the 1960s, ASU was the premier basketball school in the state, including producing a 1965 Division II (or whatever it was called then) All-American in Jerry Rook, still the school's all-time leading scorer.

Tab,

I have a soft spot for Arkansas State (and, as a native of Little Rock, for UALR). My grandparents lived in Jonesboro, and I have treasured memories of going to Indian games. My dad and I saw some great battles with Memphis State and Louisiana Tech and the like over the years.

I personally would love to see Nolan end up there. What an amazing, interesting story that would be.

What if Nolan ends up at Ark St? Wouldn't that be a dilemma for those of us who love the guy? He'd be going after the top players in the state and Memphis right alongside Pelphrey and Calipari. I will admit I'd be a huge fan of theirs if he does become their coach.

He would probably coach there just to spite Broyles.
