Is Something Happening Here, Mr. Jones?

No doubt about it: the U of A on Tuesday night reeled in an A-lister to coach its football team. Now that A-list coach is trying to reel in an A-list player for next year’s squad: Arkansas All-American junior running back Felix Jones.

We’d be beyond ecstatic to have Felix back next year, but we don’t see it happening. In fact, given Bobby’s nomadic ways and the Hogs’ recent coaching searches, we wouldn’t too shocked if Petrino isn’t in Fayetteville next year either.

Our advice to Jeff Long: keep interim coach extraordinaire Joe Kines’ numberĀ on speed dial.

Yo doofus, Where’s Bobby going to go when it will cost him 2.85 million to leave? You have read the contract details haven’t you?

Yo Ken,

I think you’re taking the post too literally. Just cracking a joke.

haha

I bet Felix stays. The mock drafts I’ve seen have him going middle second round. He can seriously improve that as the featured back for us next year.

As a side note, a friend of mine was at a bar and ended up talking to Felix for a while. As the conversation progressed my buddy told him he looked just like Dave Chappelle. And on further review they do look very similar.

HC,

I’ve never thought of that, but you’re absolutely right. In fact, the drama of the Razorback football program during the last two years could easily merit a movie, perhaps one of those really bad ones that ESPN periodically produces. Dave Chappelle would be perfect as Felix.

Other casting ideas? This could be fun.

I don’t think Dave Chappelle is available. How about Tom Cruise playing Nutt.

Hi Mickey,

It could be the role that re-establishes Chappelle as a major creative force.

Cruise and Nutt definitely share a frightening intensity level. It could work. I’ll volunteer to take Ms. Holmes to and from the set each day.

I would pay extra to see Tom Cruise/HDN jump on Oprah’s couch screaming “I love the helmet”

I’ve been reading your site since the beginning of the season, and I’ve enjoyed every bit of it!! Keep up the excellent work. Very informative and funny!

I think DMAC should play himself. It could be his Kazaam.

I like the “Ballad of a Thin Man” reference. Has anyone else heard Stephen Malkmus sing this on the new I’m Not There Soundtrack? Good stuff.
