Pat Forde was a writer in Louisville......

Besides, the only way other schools are going to go after Petrino is if he wins big. I'm all for winning big.

FayettenamHog, that's one of the best points I've seen made about this entire situation. And I agree about the timing of the Mitchell Report...the good thing (in this case) about today's 24-hr news cycle is that the media's attention span is very short.

http://atlanta.about.com/cs/sports/a/reevesfired.htm

<i>In a late-season decision that has shocked the Atlanta sports community, embattled Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Reeves has been fired by owner Arthur Blank, effective immediately, and Wade Phillips has been named interim head coach for the rest of the season. While speculation has been brewing for months about Reeves job stability, the firing of Reeves with only three games left in the season is a surprise to many.</i>

So it's OK for an owner to fire a coach in mid-season, but if a coach quits, he's a scumbag? I just find it comical that ESPN gets on their soapbox and jumps all over stories like this. The good news is when the Mitchell Report comes out tomorrow, there will be very little more mentioned about Petrino. And once we start kicking ass with Petrino, they will jump on the bandwagon.

You have to love Pat Forde getting all holy and judgmental over this. ESPN anointed Tebow as the Heisman winner over McFadden and now has Forde write that pathetic article. There's one good lesson to live by: Judge not lest ye be judged.

Who is Pat Forde to say what makes Petrino tick, or Nick Saban, or Les Miles, or Houston Nutt? Or Joe Gibbs leaving the Redskings, going to NASCAR, and now back to the Redskins, or Bill Parcells, coaching hither and yonder, or Steve Spurrior.

I think it's great that we beat LSU and now hire Petrino. I haven't been this hyped about football since December 6, 1969, pregame that is.
