<p>Great comments, thanks Tab! I'd forgotten about Larry Johnson's quote to Nolan...that's a classic moment in the history of trash talk. And you're right...finding Corliss was a pretty great response to LJ.

I was at that North Carolina game in 93 and remember Corliss standing a good half a foot shorter than Montross, but putting his chest right in Montross time and time again, staring and glaring and basically daring Montross to push back. At one point in the first half we led by a dozen or so points and were it not for Donald Williams making several threes and some great out of bounds calls by Dean Smith that led to easy layups, we would have won. Corliss was never the intimidatee, but always the intimidator.

The players he dominated in those few years are an NBA all star team -- Montross, Wright, Wallace, Rhodes, Stackhouse -- and also we beat because of Corliss four of the Fab Five at Michigan, Alabama's powerhouse front line, a final four Florida team -- the memories are endless.

But I will always remember Montross looming over Corliss and Corliss just bumping him with his chest and not giving an inch. When Larry Johnson told Nolan to get some men, Nolan listened and found Corliss Williamson.
